It was a pleasure to welcome so many people into our church on Easter Day, 4th April 2021. The church opened for the first time in three months and there will be services on the first Sunday of each month thereafter. All services will start at 9.30 am. At St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Worth, we are committed to the safety of our congregation and all visitors. A full risk assessment has been carried out and it is reviewed regularly. We will implement all aspects of the Government’s and the Church of England’s guidance as follows:
The church will be closed to the public for 72 hours BEFORE and AFTER each service.
There will be new signage in the church and some areas will be clearly cordoned off.
Entrance for the services will be via the main West Door.
Exit will be via the North Door.
There will be a table in the nave with hand sanitiser, advisory posters and a register of attendees.
Orders of Service in their plastic covers will be available at this table.
All Orders of Service are to be left on the pews at the end of each service.
They will be removed, cleaned and quarantined for at least 72 hours.
Kneelers are not to be used and they will be kept in the cordoned off areas.
It is mandatory for all worshippers to wear a face mask unless exempt.
Social distancing must be observed at all times.
Members of the same household may sit together.
Singing is not permitted, but organ music will be played before and after the service and during the distribution of Communion.
The Order of Service will be unchanged.
Readings will be delivered from the area at the front of the chancel, between the pulpit and lectern.
The Peace will be offered from pews with a bow and joined hands rather than a handshake.
Communion will be prepared in the usual way at the altar, and wafers will be offered by the celebrant in the area at the front of the chancel. Wine will not be shared.
Worshippers will socially distance as they walk to receive Communion and follow a one-way system via the Lady Chapel and aisle on the south side of the church to return to their seats.
There will not be a formal collection of monies at any time during the service.
Donations can be made on a collection plate which will be made available as the congregation exit via the North Door at the end of the service.
Please do not enter the church if you have symptoms of coronavirus.
Please be aware that you enter the church entirely at your own risk.
Please use the hand sanitiser when you enter and exit the church.
The wearing of face masks for public worship is mandatory unless exempt.
Please adhere to the Government’s latest social distancing guidelines at all times.
