REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY: 8th November 2020
There will not be a church service this year due to the latest Covid-19 guidance from the Government. However, wreaths will be laid at the War Memorial in Worth, following a 2-minute silence at 11.00 am. Representatives from the Parochial Church Council and the Worth Parish Council will lay the wreaths.
Advent and Christmas were joyous occasions at St Peter and St Paul Church. Throughout December, we had many services which were well attended. Our church looked beautiful with the Nativity crib, flowers, candles and a Christmas tree. Thanks to everyone who has worked so hard in 2018 to make the church such a welcoming and spiritual place to be in.
Our Remembrance Service was held on Sunday 11th November 2018 in St Peter and St Paul’s Church at 10 am.
The service was conducted by the Revd Howard Pashley with Andrew Larner as organist. We were delighted to welcome members of the Worth Parish Council and villagers to join the congregation in remembering 100 years since the end of the First World War.
Refreshments were served in the church afterwards with thanks to Annie Simmons and Carol Attenborough for this. Then wreaths were taken to the War Memorial where we were joined by villagers and Trustees from the St Peter and St Paul Preservation Trust.
After two minutes silence at 11 am., wreaths and crosses were laid, the names of the fallen of Worth were read out and Revd Pashley dedicated the new plaque on the War Memorial.
Special thanks to Miriam Bull and Ian Martin of the Worth Parish Council for co-ordinating the dedication.
